maybe try more by the coast. I castle on a cliff is kinda cool and we can say ocean veiw as well but make sure it is a stable cliff not one that is going to fall out from under the castle after a few years like maybe a solid rock cliff, or just something close enough to the ocean to get so people can look out their windows in certain parts of the castle and see the ocean

That would be awesome. You have to look into the safety of that too. one of the big issue is LARPers and children near the cliff side.

Say J-man you should know what I am talking to when I refer to the 'fencing' around the deck of an Air Craft Carrier. Would that be a good option you think?

yeah i think some people would have a problem with it, due to all the constant cuts and scrapes it causes by people crawling through, over, under and whatever else

If you have not found the right property yet, you might check out the Oregon Live website: www.oregonlive.com/realestate/. Towards the bottom of the page are listings for Farms Lots and Land. I recommend staying near I-5 as it is the major road through Oregon. While Hwy 101 (Coast) is also popular with tourists, it is also known for mudslides. I also recommend staying near Portland/Salem as this is where the major population base is in Oregon. Please also take into consideration that cell-phones work very well along I-5, and in most towns. However, the farther out or "in the mountains" you are they do not work. Your vendors (if any) will not be happy as they will not be able to run their credit cards. These are my humble opinions, and I hope you find them helpful. Arbella

agreed on staying near portland/salem, and also agreed with the coast line cause of the mudslides etc. was looking on a 50-75 mile radias from portland salem areas. i dont want to be too near the cities, due to the populations. (been a renny myself) people are not always kind to those that look/feel out of touch with the cities that they are close too. ok back on topic here. one of the main ideas of the site was for it to be a resort as well. so people could totally emerse themselves into the 14th-16th centuries. everything from the taverns to the shops and having a real castle on site. minimal luxuries. flushable toilets and electricity will be their but walkin through the street and stepping in a pile of horse dung would be their too. i would like to have forested areas near by for the elves, goblins, etc etc. but i also have a woodsman that wants to work for me in the survival aspects. he would teach a class as to the how to survive by urself out their in the wilderness.
