I think that would be a good idea. Could be an interesting topic for the war gaming.

Many cultures, both fantasy and historical, have festivals to celebrate the changing of seasons. Some concentrate on either the coming season or the past. Spring and autumn festivals are what come to mind. A good harvest festival with warm food and cool ale would be welcomed by many.
I think it would be great to also have some sort of rite of passage ritual for workers (are these members?) who have been there for so long, or have worked hard to make PK what it is. Recognizes accomplishment as well as keep the atmosphere.

sirilay, that is a good idea. Each season there will be afestival and the worker/members will be recognized.
This is something I will have to research into more of. What can be done for recognition and to whom. The works. Good thinking.

an idea instead of like cash bonuses are but not limited to like favors or something like that. at bristol faire, the clan dracmor gave a favor saying that i was part of their clan. it's just a lil pin i put on my clothes but its the dracmor's colours. but then again one of my other freinds at fair gave me a pin that was decorated with semiprecious gemstones. but we could work it as each favor grants a diff pay scale or something like that.

I need to resarch this 'favor' thing more to understand it.
Sounds like a good idea though.

Can you show me a website or book that shows a form of medieval ranking of some type?

ranking was done by they way people dressed, back in the medieval times. or born into it shall we say. the way people dressed and the amount of jewelry people wore. however purple was reserved for royalty.

Offer calsses like leather working or chainmail. You only teach them the basics, just enough to get them hooked. People would travel a good way to get a free class.

the favor thing was done more among friends. but could be done for different recognitions. the favors i have received one from a kilt wearing clan. (a piece of the kilt with a blue rose all cloth on a pin) another from a lady friend of mine (on a pin different precious gemstone with a rune stone under it) at any rate different things like this to signify rank or something like these. we can come up with our own things of course not using these ideas.
