As much as I would desire to see this built in the most authentic way of the times, I cannot go along with it. One of the major problems is the time needed to build a castle in the old ways and the other is the unsure saftey. Cost is also a major fator. Therefore, I strongly believe that the use of cinder blocks with reinforcing ry-bar be used in the construction of any walls and posts of the kingdom where stone would have been used. example: www.dupontcastle.com

You don't even need to make this fully authentic-looking! A medievally inspired building would be more than enough for any larper, but the more authentic looking, the larger the crowd you can pull in. Up to a point, naturally.

Exactly. Someone has seen my point. This is all about the fun not the history. my thoughts to anyone is if you want histiry, go to europe, if you want fun go to a ren faire. A bit crude and rude, yes. I admit it.
I have enough stress in my life, I wanted to do this for the fun.

Key question we need to address is which midevil are we going for?
True historical buildings are, well, dull. You still see them doay and the most imsperation some people get is weather it could be turned into a parking garage.
Fantay buildings is what a lot of people think of when they thing of historical buildings. Thos with tall towers, many pointed roofs and enough gargoyls to make the building seem alive.
I would think going with the fantasyisk buildings would be the best way to go. People was wanting a midevil fantasy. Not reality.

I feel it is up to the kingdom. On my lands, the castle will be similar to bodiam castle in shape and design. IT will have some other decorum to it that will personify the two influences I have. The Fomorians and the Sumerians. I also will have a 'tower' at the opposite sid eof the lands, i have two options posted in the WI designs, but not sure which I want yet.
I agree, fantasy as much as possible. so I hope that answers the Q. The construction design is only for added safety than ols world look. with the right decorum, anything can look how you want it to.

Here is a basic idea for stability in the blocks What the little sticks popping up are metal garden fencing posts. I am sure some of you have seen them before, the green 'U' shaped poles that hold up street signs. A good way to work on this is to fill the blocks with concrete.
