Amtgard, and Belegarth which are both offshoots of Daghorir, are also a great deal of fun. Nero is a good Larp as well, but intended for children.

Steward, I do have a couple suggestions about the use of the Dagorhir boards. They are very protective of their use, and it is important to remember two things when using them.
1: They are very anti-outside LARP. The forums are meant for Dagorhir and nothing else. Linking to things outside of Dagorhir is against the forum rules, and even in the proper spirit will upset people.
2: They are very Jaded by years of people asking the same question or raising the same topics over and over again. I don't really agree with this attitude, but it is the truth. In most cases, people will just start to ignore what you are saying. The best way to sell things to Dagorhir is with photos and physical progress.
THE best way to get into the hearts of the Dagorhirim is to first prove to them you are a person who puts your money where you mouth is, and then over time they will warm to your ideas.
Understand, I have no official status in Dagorhir outside my own unit. These are just some observations I thought might help you.

Magnus, by now I am sure you can tell I welcome everyones input.
I have gotten a much darker picture of Dag from them than you presented here. My information to them will be unwavering. But I will take your word to heart.
I will be forming a unit for them from atleast eh WI Kingdom, hopefully they wil be more accepting of this unit than I have seen of persons on the forums.
Thank you again.

I do have to say though for the most part, they seem like a real nice group of people when out on the field.

They will be. Dagorhir is the only group I have played with in 17 years [aside from my own] that has kept my attention for longer than one or two events. Once you get into the group, it is without question of the high quality live combat experiences you can have.
That, much like all on-line forums, you are dealing with a small fraction of the group as a whole.

That is exactly my thought too. And to be honest, I dont blame them for getting defensive or frustrated with folks.
I'm looking forward to meeting someof them in battle.

You should plan to come down to Ragnarok this year.
