My Idea is that since this is going to be located in Salem why not try to get some of the local (and in the area) shops and people that wish to sell their stuff involved. That leads me to my question do you need to have a business license to sell stuff at the ren fair?

im not to familiar with oregon,( still learning the ins and outs of the land so to speak) but my understanding was that you needed a bus. lic. to do any business that involved the exchange of monies for goods or services. i guess another question is: could the fairs vendors run their bus. under the fairs site lic. ( knowing the site has to have some sort of a Business lic. anyways for the hotel/motel site ) and from there, maybe a break on the amount needed to work the fair where as if the vendor wanted to have a lic. for their booth/site( terms?) they would pay possibly a higher rate for being at the fair. IE: a big business would be more inclined to pay for a temp lic. then a small vendor who may not be able to afford a temp lic. which is why if it was legally allowed, the smaller vendors could utilize the sites lic. just some thoughts James

the way i was planning on setting this up was that the local vendors would pay a fee to have their booth up on my land, after that 10% of their monthly profits after that. but since the faire would be up year round that isnt a whole lot. a small rent would be required for the booth on top of that per annual that they want to stay their. as per the license thing, well state cant say anything bout stuff that is sold off of private land.
